Glossybox VS. Birchbox, January 2018.

The start of a new year, the start of new beauty box subscriptions. I'd originally looked at Birchbox back in December but decided that Glossybox was going to be the box for me. Then after christmas I spotted a Groupon deal for £45 off a year subscription to Birchbox... I mean, it would be rude not to, wouldn't it?

So now, I'm subscribed to two beauty boxes with similar price points. (Glossybox is £10 per month plus £3.25 delivery while Birchbox is £10 per month plus £2.95 delivery.) So why not pit the boxes against each other every month and see which one comes out on top?

There are things I like about each specific one which won't change month to month. I like that Birchbox tailors each box to you based on the beauty profile you fill in when you subscribe, meaning there's less chance of a dud product that you won't like. However, Birchbox send their boxes out with Hermes, who despite the tracking saying the box was left "securely in porch" (We don't even have a porch!), they left it sat outside the front door where anyone could have taken it. Glossybox send theirs with Royal Mail and I know that if noone is in, it'll be left with a neighbour or taken back to the delivery office, which isn't a hassle for me to collect it from.

But onto the actual boxes. I love that their both different styles. I've been using Glossyboxes to make compartments in my drawers to seperate my make up. I like Birchboxes drawer style too, I want to use the sleeve part as eyeshadow palette holders.

Glossybox contains 5 products, 4 of which are full size. The overall value of the full size products comes to £89.98, not bad for £10!

Boots Beauty Beneath Supplements (Full size RRP £39.99)
While the idea of these intrigue me, I'm going to be passing these on. I'm not the best at swallowing normal tablets and these beasts are 'effing massive! The box contains a months supply so it is a generous addition to the box, just not for me.

Apicia Cream Blush (Full Size RRP £22)
Let's get the other product I won't be keeping out the way. I'm not a fan of cream blushes but the colour seems nice. It looks quite strong at first but sheers out easily.

Nail Medic Nail and Cuticle Energizer (Full Size RRP £5.99)
I'll be getting use of out this, maybe not as often as I should as I tend to slack when it comes to my nails. This is a good addition.

Evelyn Iona Cosmetics Green Tea Primer (Full Size RRP £22)
This is my favourite thing from this month's box. It's really tacky and definitely made my makeup last longer. It's vegan and cruelty free too.

Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil (Travel Size)
This was the sneak peak on December's card and I like this as I've only just gotten into using facial oils. It doesn't have a strong scent, which is good as I'm not keen on rose fragrances.

So out of 5 products, I'll be keeping 3 and giving 2 away.

Birchbox also contains 5 products, only 1 of which is full size.

AfterSpa Amazing Makeup Remover
This is tiny! I've already got 2 big versions of this from Primark. I keep one at home and the other at my boyfriend's so I'm not sure when this mini version will be used. Maybe for a weekend away? It is a lot softer than Primark's version but 2 days and it'll need washing.

Oribe Dry Texturising Spray
I'm looking forward to giving this a try. It'll be interesting to see how it compares to my trusty bastiste. Another one that will be coming on holiday, it's the perfect little travel size.

Lord & Berry Blusher Crayon in Peach (Full Size RRP £15)
This was the product we got to choose this month. There were two shades to choose from, Peach and a pink shade called Carnelia. I really like this, I've never tried blusher in a crayon before. It's super creamy and easy to blend out.

Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner in Charcoal
I really like this too, I don't have any grey eyeliners and this one has a slight shimmer to it. The staying power is really impressive as well.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiance
This is my favourite product from Birchbox this month. So my favourite from each box was a primer, but this one is my favourite out of the two! I love the glow it gives, so much that I'm considering purchasing the full size when this runs out.

The winner has to be Birchbox! There wasn't a product I didn't like or won't get any use out of.

What are the sneak peaks for next month? I'm really excited about one of them, the other not so much. The one that will probably be a miss for me is the Keeome Silicone Buff Make-Up Applicator which will be in February's Birchbox. I just don't like silicone applicators. I like the sound of the Studio 10 Makeup Mist Glow-Plexion in February's Glossybox. It's a primer, spritz and setting spray all in 1. Yes Please!

Which do you prefer out of these boxes?

Look Incredible Deluxe Box, August 2017.

I've been such a slacker lately, seeing how I'm only just getting round to reviewing the contents of the August Look Incredible deluxe box. The box costs £35 a month and contains full sized luxury beauty items. This month contains 4 products, instead of the usual 5 but one of the products more than makes up for that!

Too Faced Funfetti Eyeshadow Palette (RRP £30)
Too Faced are my favourite brand when it comes to eyeshadow palettes so I'm super pleased with this addition! I believe this palette was exclusive to Selfridges in the UK but isn't available to buy anymore. All the shades in this palette are extremely versatile, I can't wait to have a play around with it.

Nars Velvet Lip Liner in Patong Beach (RRP £18)
Lip liners are the one product I could actually do with more of, so any that appear in Look Incredible boxes are a welcome sight. I love the colour of this, especially now that we're heading into autumn.

Kiehl's Powerful Strength Eye Brightening Concentrate (RRP £39)
I'm umming and ahhing over whether to give this a go. I've never tried any Kiehl's products before so I'm curious, especially given the price tag how well this will work. The powerful strength claim worries me a bit as I do suffer from sensitive skin around my eyes but I could really use getting rid of my dark circles! I'm going to use it sparingly to see how my skin reacts before going full out with this but I've got my fingers crossed!

Mac Nail Lacquer in Texturise (RRP £13)
I'm so not a nail person, I rarely have to patience so I'm disappointed with this. This seems to be a top coat, though I know other boxes last month actually got some really nice shades. This will be added to my small stash but I can't see myself reaching for it much.

What do you think to this edition? The september box is already on it's way and I'm hoping for higher things. Even though I loved the makeup products, I'm unsure on the other two products but I still love this subscription!

Look Incredible Deluxe Box, February 2017.

Another month, another beauty box and wow, Look Incredible have pulled it out the bag this month! If you haven't heard of Look Incredible, they offer two subscription beauty boxes. The standard box costs £18.99 per month plus £2.50 postage and the deluxe box costs £35 per month with postage included. You can expect up to five full size goodies in both boxes, though the deluxe box tends to have more luxe brands than the standard and a higher overall worth. I've had both boxes in the past but only have the deluxe box at the moment as the products are more impressive.

Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Yu (RRP £20)
Nars describe this as a vivid pink and I love it. This is my first Nars lip product and hopefully not my last. These lip pencils tend to pop up in beauty boxes alot, I know Look Incredible have also included these in the standard boxes before so I'm surprised it's taken me so long to get one. It's worth the wait as I'll getting a lot of wear out of this, especially during the summer months.

Studio 10 I-Lift Longwear Liner in Mocha (RRP £22)
This is the one item in the box I'm not particularly bothered by. If I'm wearing eyeliner, it will almost always be of the liquid variety so I don't think I'll be reaching for this much. The liner is double ended with a dark brown one end and a highlight shade the other. The highlight side is very orange on my skin but I am very pale so I can see other subscribers liking this product.

Laura Geller Supercharged Fortified Under Make-Up Primer (RRP £25)
I've had a couple of weeks to try this out since receiving the box and I've really enjoyed using this. It's definitely made my foundation sit on my skin better and my skin seems to be less dry since using it. I'm not sure I'd want to pay the £25 price tag but I'm so pleased this was in the box!

Burberry Sheer Eye Shadow in Porcelain White (RRP £23)
Burberry in a beauty box?! What is this madness! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this gem, kudos to Look Incredible, they've really raised their game. This is a shimmery white which will be perfect under the brow bone or as an inner corner highlight. I've seen alot of other subscriber's got different shades of this with Dark Sable being the most common in the boxes and I'm so glad I got this shade. The packaging is so luxurious and it even comes with its own little dust pouch, cute!

Nails Inc Match Box by Lottie Tomlinson in Babes & Mint (RRP £15)
I'd heard such good things about these and I was really surprised to see this in the box as it is a very recent launch. Lottie Tomlinson is a make up artist and the sister of One Direction's Louis. I love the colour of these, it was a good choice having the nude shade in the box rather than any of the other colours. I used the nail polish the day I got the box and it lasted a really long time. I love the lip paint too, the colour is very close to Sleek's Matte Me liquid lipstick in Shabby Chic but the formula of these is so much better. They are quite drying but they last a really long time. Super impressed with this addition!

L-R: Nars Yu, Studio 10 Mocha & highlight, Burberry Porcelain White & Lips Inc Babes.

Nails Inc Mint.

Did you get any Look Incredible boxes this month? What did you think to this month's line up?

Little Known Box, July 2016.

This is my last box from Little Known Box. I signed up for the 3 month subscription and decided against renewing. I have nothing against the box itself, I've enjoyed discovering all these brands thanks to this box but it just doesn't excite me as much as other boxes I've tried.

Soap N Skin Soothe & Enrich Intense Body Butter Travel Size (RRP £6)
This feels so luxurious with a whipped texture. This will be coming with me on holiday as it's a perfect size for my toiletry bag! I'm not too keen on the scent but it will be an absolute saviour for my dry skin so it's something I'll be able to look past.

Odylique Conditioning Volumising Mascara (RRP £17.50)
This mascara is 100% natural and something I look forward to trying. The brush looks nice and big so I have high hopes for it.

Balance Me Radiance Face Mask travel size (RRP £12)
I already own a travel size of this that I havent got round to using but I'm not going to complain about having another! Another product that will be going in my holiday toiletry bag especially now I have one to keep at home too.

Zerreau Apple Towel Off Shampoo Foam travel size (RRP £3.99)
This is the product I'm most excited about. My hair is getting fairly long, so washing and drying it feels like such a chore. Dry shampoo is such a saviour for me but I read an article online in the last month or so saying that using it frequently can lead to baldness... Not what I wanted to read! So I hope this waterless shampoo foam works wonders. It smells delicious, so it's got that going for it before I've even tried it. If it works, I can see this becoming a favourite of mine.

HJ Manicure nail polishes in Lavender & Strawberry Daiquiri (RRP £9.50 each)
I already own a HJ Manicure polish in Lavender so this one will be going on depop.(dannilaura if anyone is interested.) I love the shade of the red one, the name is so cute. The fact that LKB included two polishes when they could of just put in one is very generous.

Lastly as a bonus product we have these two sample sachets. One is an argan oil and the other is a perfume made by the same company. I won't be getting any use out of these but they are a nice little extra to the box.

Do you have Little Known Box? What did you think to July's box?
